What Tesla's referral program covers now
Tesla's current Refer and Earn terms (updated February 24, 2026) list solar panels as the only product that earns a buyer benefit. Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck only qualify for loyalty benefits, which go to people who already own a Tesla.
Bottom line: a referral link won't lower the price of a new car right now, and it won't add free FSD to the order.
What about the Model Y, Model 3 and Cybertruck codes I've seen?
Earlier versions of the program gave car buyers perks like free Supercharging miles, months of FSD, or $1,000 off a Model S or Model X. Many sites still list those offers, but Tesla's own referral page now shows only the solar offer.
What car buyers can still get
- Tesla's own offers. Financing rates, lease deals and inventory discounts on Tesla's site are open to everyone, no referral needed.
- A free month of FSD, once you own a Tesla. Owners who subscribe to FSD (Supervised) can share a link that gives other owners a free month. Here's one you can use. Note that if your new car came with its own FSD trial, you have to wait 12 months after it ends.
- Loyalty benefits. If you already own a Tesla, check the Tesla app for loyalty offers on your next one.
- A free demo drive. You can book one through the referral link below.

Will the car referral discount come back?
Tesla hasn't said. It has paused and reshaped the referral program several times over the years, so this page will be updated if car benefits return.
I saw a site promising 3 months of FSD with a referral code. Is that real?
Not according to Tesla's current terms. The only FSD referral today is a one-month trial that owners share with other owners, like this one. It's for people who already own a Tesla.
Does a referral work on a used Tesla?
No. Used cars have never qualified for Tesla referral benefits.
Does booking a demo drive through a referral link cost anything?
No. It's free and there's no obligation to buy. Tesla may reward the owner of the link for your first demo drive.
